Approach to Custom Development

/n software's business centers on developing packaged software components for resale.  /n software is NOT a custom development or consulting business. We offer custom development services to complement our product line and provide added support to our customers.  If you are looking for low cost development options based on fixed hourly rates or a consulting relationship, our custom development services will not be of interest to you. 

Please read the following before submitting a custom development request:

• Minimum project cost is $10,000.  Except in circumstances involving a substantial licensing opportunity, we will not accept a custom development project for less than the minimum project cost.
• Cost is based on various factors including: level of required developer expertise, opportunity costs associated with current project interruption, required delivery schedule, licensing opportunities, exclusivity requirements, development time, and technology requirements.  /n software may require additional information to prepare a quote for your customized project.
• Payment Terms : We typically require a 50% initial deposit before beginning development. The balance is due upon successful project completion. 
• As a general rule, /n software reserves all intellectual property rights for custom work.  Any modifications or enhancements to /n software products are the exclusive property of /n software.  /n software has the right to commercialize any such modifications in any way it chooses.

Alternatives to Custom Development

We understand that our professional development services may not be a good fit for your particular situation and requirements.  The following options are available for projects that fall outside of the scope of our custom development services.

• Technical Support - /n software provides several levels of technical support including free email support. In many situations our experienced support team will be able to help you through obstacles in your project development.

• Feature Requests - If there are features that you think would make valuable additions to any of our products, please submit a feature request.  Your feedback is very important to us and one of the primary drivers behind our product development. While we can't guarantee that your specific request will be implemented, we will definitely evaluate it carefully and assign a priority based on its appeal to our full user base.
