SecureBlackbox 16: What is a CDS signature? Does SecureBlackbox support it?

Note: This article applies only to SecureBlackbox Legacy. For future development please consider using the latest version.

A CDS signature is a signature with a certificate chain that ends up with a root certificate issued by Adobe. The idea is that since Adobe software knows the root certificate and always trusts it, the validation process in Adobe software is to some extent simplified.

A CDS signature requires a CDS certificate to be used for signing. You can purchase a CDS certificate from a certificate authority such as GlobalSign. On the GlobalSign site you will find a detailed description of the CDS program.
