SecureBlackbox 16: Why does my timestamp not show up in Acrobat?

Note: This article applies only to SecureBlackbox Legacy. For future development please consider using the latest version.

Acrobat is very sensitive to the TSP reply that is given by the TSP server. For example, the certificate chain must be completely validated by Acrobat in order for the timestamp to be detected. Also, the certificate should contain a special set of key usage fields.

There can be other problems with TSP replies, such as a slightly different DER encoding in the TSP reply that might prevent Acrobat from handling the timestamp properly.
