Capturing Outgoing Network Traffic with IPMonitor

IPMonitor will only detect packets received by the network interface. However, you can turn on the personal firewall feature of Windows OS and you will be able to see outgoing data.

You can find the Personal Firewall feature in the Advanced tab of your network connection properties.

Notes:

• The network interface must support promiscuous mode. This may not work with many wireless cards due to security restrictions. (Windows 2000 and later only.)
• If your computer is connected to a switch, the switch will forward only packets addressed to your computer. If your computer is connected to a hub, it will receive all packets.
• You must have administrative permissions (raw sockets permissions) to use this component.
