Following our Red Carpet Vol. 2 2022 release, we have updates to S3 Drive, SFTP Drive and SFTP Server. There is more to come before our next official Vol. 1 2023 release, too, so follow us on Twitter/X as we look ahead to a great 2023!

Starter, Standard and Professional Editions

With this release we have new licensing options for all our Drives as well as SFTP Server. The new Starter Edition includes all essential features and is now FREE for both Personal Use and Commercial Use. The Standard and Professional Editions add more advanced features. Detailed comparisons for each product can be found in the respective product pages.

Run on Windows Arm64

There is an increasing interest in Arm64 compatibility, and we're pleased to announce the 2022 versions of SFTP Drive, S3 Drive and SFTP Server all run on Windows for Arm64. No additional download is needed, the installer will select the correct drivers and libraries for your system.

FIPS 140-2 and more in S3 Drive and SFTP Drive

S3 Drive and SFTP Drive are now FIPS 140-2 compliant. This is enabled via an application-level setting and requires a special license. Please contact sales@nsoftware.com for more information.

Other changes include automatic retry, a prompt to sync-then-exit in case there are unwritten files when a drive is stopped, performance improvements and more supported providers in S3 Drive.

You can now prevent temporary (or other) files from being uploaded by both S3 Drive and SFTP Drive with the new CacheOnlyFiles setting. This can be applied to any filemask, for each storage location. Please refer to the documentation for details.

SFTP Server FIPS 140-2 and Other Improvements

Security improvements were the main focus for this release. SFTP Server is also FIPS 140-2 compliant. This is enabled via an application-level setting and requires a special license. Please contact sales@nsoftware.com for more information.

For all licenses we added more information in log messages and automatic blocking of IP addresses which fail authentication too many times. Support for Windows users and groups has been added to the Standard Edition, while the Professional Edition now features Encryption At Rest and Kerberos Authentication.
